Will Ultegra 6700 BB work with 6600 Crankset

I have a new Ultegra 6600 Hollowtec II crankset and it came with the 6600 Bottom bracket that is English thread. I need Italian thread. Can I use a different bottom bracket other than the FC6600 that came with it (ie. FC6700 or other with Italian thread)
