locked bottom bracket

hi all. i was wrong about my crank its not a power crank its a power cam stronglightcrank. the drive side of the bottom bracket cup is drilled and pinned into the bottom cast bottom bracket and can not be removed with out drilling etc. so will the taper on the axel stronglite SCM 3 S B 83-d fit the sugino crank its an idol prob has same taper as all sugino cranks assume. i rode the power cam its not the ride for me. its like falling off the pedal every rev.

drilled and pinned? I don't think I ever heard of that. I think it will help alot if you can post some pics. once you do if you don't get any help in a day or so try postingin the C&V thread with a link to this thread

I do not know what the actual difference in taper between JIS and ISO, but I am using an XTR crank (JIS) on a Campy BB (ISO), with no problems.
I DO keep an eye on it, and remove, check, and reinstall it occasionally, just to be safe. In about 1200 miles, it has not had any issues.

After reading Bianchigirl's post, I have also not heard of a BB being drilled and pinned. Is it possible that it has a setscrew to hold it in place, rather than a pin? If so, you may be able to loosen the screw, to remove the cup. Whether it would be worth the trouble (if BB is in good condition, otherwise), is up to you.

P.S. Good morning BG

the drive side has two holes for the cam plate which screw into the out side of the cup. under that you see two pins which are inserted through the cup into the side of the bike pic will be attempted. if the tapper is the same i just wont remove it and the trouble is over. thank s for the help to come

I don't see any BB pics but is this the type of cranks you have? https://www.classicrendezvous.com/USA/PowrCam_main.htm

Holy cow. I haven't seen a PowerCam crank for 25-odd (very odd) years.

if that is the case perhaps you may want to take a bunch of pics and post them in the C&V thread. alot of us have never seen this system. also since this is sort of a flopped experimental system a brand new bike might be worth a few scheckles to the right collector.

PLZ stop and reconsider before taking it apart.

personally I like the censored word list, it is quite bad enough we threads labeled "got flat on 10yo tire WTF" or "some SOB ripped me the F**K off". I don't really want to see these spelled out
