Nitto 177 Noodle bars

Just got some Nitto's 177 ( Noodle bars )

My question, is the raised central part 26.mm ( for the clamp ) and then the rest of it is 25.4 mm ? Want to fit some Cross levers on the top hoods either side of the stem, and need to know the right size to get without using a shim.

Many thanks in advance,
Psychkle.

if you want them to fit just outside that sleeve, get 25.4mm. if you want them to go over the sleeve directly next to the stem, get 26mm. either this is really obvious or i am missing some detail.

As stated, the sleeve is 26.0mm. But the sleeve isn't terribly wide, and I'm not aware of an interrupter that is available in 25.4mm. Default would be to plan on using a shim.

No, not obvious... but logical. I just wanted to check that apart from the raised middle, the rest of the bars were 25.4mm. Thank you for replying.

Yes, you are right, cross levers is what I meant to say. Not TT levers.
The Promax 239A is a 25.4mm interrupter, isn't it ?

The bar is 23+mm,(15/16) the center is 26, 25.4 is 1" that is another center of the bar diameter,
Mountain , and other Bike type.

many are made assuming you put lever on the edge of the center sleeve.

I got a set of Empella Top mount levers , they fit on the H-bar off the sleeve

I'm sorry, but you are speaking in tongues. I'm not quite up to speed on what you are saying.
The centre is 26.mm, the rest of bar is 23.mm ( in diameter or circumference ? ) not 25.4mm.
So I'd have to use a 24.mm Cross lever with a shim, if fitting onto any part of the 23.mm bar.

Is that right ?

Mountain bike type : 1" in the center 7/8 for the remainder of the bar

Road are 26mm in the center, 23 ish mm for the rest of the bar

these are all Outside Diameters .. OD

so mountain bike levers are sized for one ,
Road levers are sized for the other.

Yes if you have a cross lever sized for sitting on a center sleeve,
then you have to shim it to fit it elsewhere.

economy of making just one lever means make it fit the big diameter ,
and shim under the clamp for anything smaller.

Good luck
the cable pull ratios of top mount levers is different
from the brake lever on the end of the cable.

so adjustment is a compromise.
