Where can I buy spokes/nipples online??

Please help! I am now in Argentina and desperately need to rebuild my wheel, but can't find the spokes I need. I have a Canadian friend coming down in a week who can bring me the spokes, but I can't find them on any website!!. Do you know where I can find 295mm 14-gauge DT spokes (or something similar - I need strong spokes as I'm touring on a very heavy bike on bad roads) I would like to order them from someone in Canada so I don't run the risk of htem getting caught up in customs, but can overnight them from the USA if I have to.

Thanks!
Nancy

I dont know any Canadian suppliers, but I have one in New England and one in Colorado which, when I was growing up in Brooklyn, may as well have been Canada.

I think I've found it! Phil Wood has put me in contact with two stores in Canada who should be able to cut them to length. If that doesn't work, I'll have Phil Wood cut them and overnight them up north!

You are in Argentina which has bike shops aplenty like most of the world.

http://www.google.com.ar

"bike shops argentina"

Support your Foreign Bike Shop or FBS as we might say.

Oh gosh - would that I could buy them here! 700c wheels is nearly unheard of down here - that's the root cause of all my problems! If they had spokes I would use, trust me - there is NO WAY I would be ordering them from up north and paying a fortune to get htem down here!

An Argentine bike shop should be able to cut and thread the spokes to your specs. My bike shop takes one of my good ones and matches the length and then cuts the threads on it. The nipple they sell will fit the threads they put on the spoke end.

Hope this makes sense. I'm loopy from flu meds.

Nancy...they do 700c in Argentina. Brazil as well... Get out of the motel...get to the FBS...and if you have spare time, do an AC/DC concert as well next time they come through.

I have bought all my spokes from this ebay seller ctbikes-ny.com has all sizes even if not listed just email and ask. Prices are good also and all spokes come with nipples you can mix and match what ever you want on orders.

http://www.cambriabike.com/shopdispl...es+and+Nipples I would go with 14 guage double butted spokes. Makes for a stronger wheel.
