BB Spindle and Crank quick replacement matching

Hey all, first post here. I'll get straight to it, I have a busted bottom bracket (cup and cone set up) on an old 80s Raleigh I've been using for commuting. The spindle is what needs replacing. Its ID code is 3S so I'm assuming it's 124.5 mm long. I have another old BB sitting around that I wanted to try to replace it with, but its spindle is coded 3SS and 121.5 mm long. I also have the accompanying crank set that goes with it. My question is, am I able to just use the 121.5 mm spindle and replace the current crank set with it's crank and be good to go? Both are for 68 mm width BBs. Thanks for any help on getting me back out riding!

If it clears the frame when you tighten the Right crank arm, that is,

ts ID code is 3S so I'm assuming it's 124.5 mm long.
Rather than assuming , I would measure if I were You.
