Sealed vs Shielded cartridge bearings for Speedplay Zero

I want to replace my Speedplay Zero cartridge bearings with Ceramic Hybrid ones.

I believe Speedplay uses shielded steel cartridge bearings. This allows lubing
w/grease via pedal grease port; grease can pass thru 2 race bearings so as to allow lubing pedal's needle bearing.

Boca Bearing has a hybrid ceramic rubber sealed set and shielded set. Both are maint. free. The "shields" set has non contact frictionless seals behind the shields.

According to Speedplay if install ceramic bearings like Boca Bearing's shielded or sealed, it will this prevent/block grease from passing thru to pedal's needle bearings.

Can I simply remove the rubber seals or shields to allow for greasing them along with Speedplay pedal needle bearing via pedal grease port.

(Enduro makes a sealed ceramic bearing for only one of the cartridges)

I wonder if the Speedplay original bearings are unsealed/unshielded?

Also, note that Speedplay's internal torx screw for end of spindle blocks any grease from going down center via race bearing holes.

grease injection pushes out the contaminated grease,
contact seals add some resistance
both to grease injection particularly on inside face pushing thru it ,
and a trifle rotationally.

a bearing placed so as shielded on the inside, and a contact seal on the outside,
would be Ideal, i'd suppose. but that's for weather resistance..

Given, you seek slight rotational resistance reduction with ceramic balls,
seal drag would add some back again.

Just another attempt at shaving bike weight.

Boca Bearing's shielded hybrid ceramic bearing has a non contact frictionless seal
behind the shield. Guess I should have gotten that one; though the set is a gram
heavier than rubber seal set.

Somehow I seem to have picked up weight weenie habits
afte reading Soloist Assassin's attempts to do the same.

Next up will be wheel hub bearings to convert to ceramic.
I hope you understand, but if not, oh well. You have more money than sense. Other than bragging rights weight is not important to almost all riders. Right now I need to take 8618 grams off of my saddle.

Yeah, I know no real big advantage to it unless it's for a turbine or high speed motor. But, hey it's a hobby; it's a game/option; it's fun to tinker with my bikes and learn something new. (replacing bearings)

I understand the tinkering part.
I am the unofficial mechanic for my group of old fart bike riders. I like working on them because they are simple and efficient. I wish they wouldn't mess with the standards just to make changes for change (and money's) sake.
Because of my hobby I got to follow Amy Xu on the RAAM as her mechanic.

So, if I pull rubber seals off ceramic bearings, would it be okay to install as replacements in Speedplay pedals?
