Orbea Radikal Flow Help.

Hi guys and girls,

I purchased a Orbea Radikal Flow full suspension mountain bike around 12 months ago but i have not been on in around 5 months (wrist slap).

Well basically i had 2 reasons why i didn't go on 1 was the gears needed adjusting and i didnt have time due to work and alot of the time kept forgetting, and 2 the rear shock lock-out stopped working :( this made it VERY difficult to ride up hills as all my energy was swallowed by the bouncy bouncy suspension, but now you will be glad to know i have taken it to a store to have the gears adjusted and have a service etc.

Ok so my rear shock is TOUGH SHOCK FDR and i was wondering if the lock-out can be fixed on this? and do any of you guys have any tips for this?

I would go through the Warranty process of ordering a new rear shock BUT Orbea being i think French i have to apply for a warranty replacement, confirm, send off old part to france, wait for other part, then fit....... around 2-3 weeks just on waiting so i would love to have a go at tinkering with it myself and if i break it even more i will have to buy a new part eventually when i save :(

Get it repaired under warranty...why would another three weeks bother you.

Stupid question. Since you lack the time or skill to do the basic adjustments and brought it to the shop for those, why didn't you have them check the shock lock out at the same time? Even if they couldn't service it for you they could at least explained the various options.

In any case, Orbea didn't make the shock unit which is a Tough Shock FDR made in Taiwan. You might email Tough Shock and see if parts or service are available to you locally.

i did ask the store but they said they would simply replace it but i would rather repair and learn abit more, also i did try to adjust my gears and simply made them worse :) i have a go at stuff but i'm not very good just yet maybe i will learn one day BUT just now ill just get the shop to do it and ill pay £10 for a years service including a full service for free and no labour charges, saves me time and head ache just for now :) although the suspension would be quicker if i could just fix it myself instead of waiting for shipping etc.
