"Play" in right brifter when shifting

Working on getting my bike just so. . .anyways, new Dura-Ace and the right brifter shift/brake lever has some "play" in it when shifting. What I mean is that when you push it from right to left (to change gears) there is .5 to .75 inches of "play" before there is any resistance. It is not loose per se, doesn't bounce around, but when you go to shift it there is a noticeable movement before it starts to change the gears. On my ultegra bike this is not the case. It is firm across the shift.

Is this an adjustment I can make to remove this "play"? Thanks
