i have a question about my brs 101 rear brake

originally, i bought this brake bc my fork wasnt drilled with a hole.
the rear brake and the adapter looks VERY cheesy with the long cable running from front to back....

i did a mock up of the rear brake to the front and it seems like it will fit. are all brakes backwards compatible as in fitting both front and back?

its a brs 101 47-53mm

thanks

Usually the only difference between front & rear brakes is the length of the centrebolt.

So when fitting front brakes on rear, you can add spacers behind the brake-bridge to let you install a regular nut on to hold. Or cut the centrebolt shorter and thread it.

When using rear brake on front, you can drill larger hole and get a longer allen-nut to reach the shorter bolt. Or use Sheldon Brown's technique where you installer a short allen nut inside the fork steerer tube to clamp the centrebolt to just the front surface of the fork.
