How old is my Koga

I would like to know if anybody can tell me what date my bike is from? It is a Koga Miyata RoadRunner with an Alloy 7005 sticker under the saddle and the serial number is H8E06789. my problem is, the saddle bar is broken all the way around the weld on the bottom where it is welded to the part where the crankset goes in. I would like to know if I have one of the bikes that are guarantied for life. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

It might have been guarantied for life at the time of purchase. But those are usually limited to the original owner with supporting documentation. It also depends on which country you're in. If in the USA you're probably out of luck since the original importer is long gone, and I don't know if they have an agent here these days.

If you bought it locally, step one is to go to the shop where you got it, and start there.

Lifetime guaranties are interesting. They don't specify which lifetime, the you, the dealer, importer, or manufacturer. (lawyers don't chime in here, I'm talking practicality, not legality) Once the responsible entity is gone, the guaranty is gone with him

As JoeBee is from the Netherlands and Koga are based there, would hope there are some dealers he could go to.

As the frame is Aluminium this indicates that it is a recent touring type bike.

Would suggest that if you are not the orginal owner you go to a local bike shop / builder who can repair alumimum frames; if you are the orginal owner, go to a local Koga dealer for their advise.

I believe its better to post a picture of the bike... it is this one?? Too many bikes in the market and to know the serial number sometimes is worthless because at least me, i did not know the road runner was still in production... this is the bike???
