Brake switch out question
If my current bike has cane creek long reach brakes and I buy a frame that was equiped with Ultegra brakes. Will I be able to use the cane creek brakes on the new frame?

Measure the reach. pad to mounting bolt. rim to mounting hole..
and compare... |
You may want to tell us exactly which model of brakes you have since I don't see anything on the Cane Creek site for long reach brake calipers. And the calipers they do have listed have the same max spacing of 49mm.

The Cane Creek brakes I currently have are scr-31; I am thinking about making an offer on a 2007 trek Madone 5.2 frame which Trek lists in their archives as having Ultegra brakes. I want to know if my Trek pilot equipment can all fit on that frame particularly the brakes.
Thanks for all and any help. |
Read the specs for each brake to determine the maximum and minimum reaches. If the range is the same, it's an easy sub. If they overlap, it depends on whether the actual reach needed is within the overlapped range. If there's no overlap, you know for certain they won't work.
