So, Mykn (I think that's his user name) was kind enough to send me a replacement mounting bracket for the FD on my Cannondale. Turns out the rivnuts were too far apart (not 15mm c-c, more like 5mm!) and therefore I am on a frantic search to find the correct mount to finish my build.

I contacted Cannondale about it and they were unable to help me out. I've been scouring the internet and haven't found much (a few pieces from various metal fabricators, but none that would fit to my frame), so my best bet as of now rests on two different situations:

1) I find a wrecked Cannondale frame similar to mine and hope the mount is still on there or
2) Borrow my friends 3.0 Criterium (roughly same year as 3.0 Road Race) and, granted his mount will fit on my frame, take it to a metal fabrication shop (conveniently located a block away from my apartment) and ask them to replicate the mount.

Does anyone have any wrecked C'dale frames w/ this particular mount? It's basically a metal tab that is bolted on to the seat tube via two rivnuts that are roughly 5mm apart (c-c). Trek also had a similar feature to their aluminum models in the 80's, however the rivnuts are spaced apart farther than the C'dale.

Is the bracket you were given wide enough to drill a second hole or set of holes far enough apart to match your frame?

So whats wrong with this? I can understand it being not time accurate but this would solve all your problems. I used one of these clamp ons one when a girls GIANT stripped one of her 2 holes () just like yours and couldn't use the silver bracket anymore because only using one hole made it too loose ().

Oh, and I clamped it right over the holes (they stuck up slightly) and it didn't effect it at all, I suppose you could file them flush if it bothered you.
