SKS fender stays for Wald fenders?

I have a set of Wald aluminum fenders that I want to install on my 27" Panasonic resto. The problems are these:

I cannot use the Wald braces because they are all too long, and ugly as sin.
I cannot use Honjo fender stays because there isn't enough clearance for the bolts with the tires I'm using.
I cannot mount a bracket to the front brake bolts because of how I had to retrofit a set of Tektros in there.

From pictures, it looks like some SKS fender stays might work. The ones I am looking at grasp the edges of the fenders and do not utilize bolts through the top of the fender. Do such fender stays exist? From whom would I be able to buy them?

Thoughts are always appreciated.

Btw, yes I know I could buy a new set of fenders with stays that my bike would accommodate, but this is a budget project and I really like the Wald fenders...better quality than the VOs and Honjos, in my opinion.

Take a look here:

BTW, I thought Wald fenders were steel. Do they really make aluminum?

Maybe , there are the draw bolts to clamp the ends of the stays
maybe a hole for each, drilled in the fender will mount those , since its steel..

This sounds like the older SKS system for attaching the fenders. The pieces grabbing the fenders were out of plastic and the grabbed fender edges were also plastic. The fit was relatively tight. I doubt you would get a match to the Wald fenders and an effective grip. You might consider the current SKS system and rivet brackets, which bolt to stays, to the Wald fenders. I suspect you might be able to buy replacement brackets for SKS. A bike shop might have such brackets left from broken up SKS-es.

Yeah the planet bike one's work this way: the bits "pinch" the fenders and it's a tight fit.
