Bikes: Had a Surly Cross Check - was totaled in recent accident. Sadly now just a Fuji Crosstown as a backup bike.

I've also got a chainwhip tool and the cone wrenches coming. This was the only thing I wasn't sure about.
When I meant shimano deore cassette, I meant that the cassette was on a deore hub.
Or this?

Also, where is a good place to get 1/4 inch bearings? Is this something you can get in Home Depot, etc?

Nope, that's a freewheel remover. You need a cassette lockring tool like this: https://www.parktool.com/product/cass...ring-tool-fr-5

Ok, is the one Parktool FR5 better with the guide or without? The guide version is 2 extra bucks. I don't mind if it makes things easier.

Mine has the guide and it works well. However, I don't think it's a deal breaker either way. I'm sure it will work fine without.
I missed your question about bearings. I just bought a bag of 100 on ebay for like $7. Much cheaper than the bike shop. I think I bought from this guy: https://cgi.ebay.com/100-1-4-inch-Dia...item1e5696900f
I'm not sure that's the sort of thing Home Depot would carry, but you could try. If you have a bearing supply store near you go there.
