Grey Cloud #6
Composition:
GreenGrease (synthetic) 80%
Royal Purple Synthetic Gear Oil 20%
Blend resulting grey goo into a carrier solvent of:
Heptane 90% (white lightning degreaser discharged from its can will suffice, as this product is composed largely if not solely of heptane)
Acetone 10%
A ratio of 4-5:1 solvent/grey goo will get it into drippable form that will
penetrate chain links. Now you may decant it into a small drip bottle.
Instructions for use:
Apply one drop per link to clean, dry chain. Backpedal with tips of fingers pressed against rollers. This will help squish additional lube into the crevaces between the plates and rollers. You will feel the lube begin to set after two or three revolutions. The solvent dries very quickly)
When the lube is thoroughly set (allow a half hour for solvent to dry from
insides of chain) the chain may be aggressively wiped clean of all traces of lube. Rest assured, it will stay that way.
Here are the results you will observe:
unparalled chain quietness
Cleanliness comparable to most dry lubes
Lengthy service intervals
Unparalled water resistance
I am doubtful there are many folks who are curious and patient enough to try and make this stuff. I've no desire to debate its merits or weaknesses, since I
only make it for my own use. But as the product has numberless hours of hard work behind it, and may be superior to many commercial products in some applications, I do feel a responsibility to pass on what I have learned. That obligation has now been discharged.
Thank you for your attention.

Use this stuff outside and well away from any ignition source. Heptain has a flashpoint of 26°F and Acetone's is -4°F. NO SMOKING!

Some reasoning behind the ingredients would be interesting, and possibly enlightening as to alternatives where the specific ones you mention are unavailable.
As someone with his own chain lube on the market, FBinNY may be able to offer some interesting comments...
