Any info on this old KMC SS chain?
Sorry if this doesn't deserve a thread, but I'm curious. I recently got an old Trek bike with this KMC SS chain. Does SS mean stainless steel? I don't think I've ever seen a stainless steel chain. It does have some rust, but the rest of the bike was in much worse shape. I'm surprised the chain survived as it did. I'm going to make the bike into a single speed so I'm not too concerned with cassette wear, shifting, etc.
Or should I put it on my winter bike to defeat rust? Throw it in the garbage?

Ah, I should've mentioned: it's 3/32, not 1/8. I couldn't find any KMC chains labeled "single speed" in the 3/32 width. Nothing that looks like mine, anyway.

KMC makes a stainless steel chain still. It's 1/8 and it's popular for winter riding. Much more resistant to corrosion.
