    Sun tour fork leaking

I bought this bike about a month ago and have put about 100 miles on it. It has a Sun tour NCX-D RL-A fork with remote lock out. I've been riding on the road and have had the fork locked out. Today I unlocked the fork for the final 8 miles of my ride. When I got home I noticed a film of oil on the upper tubes. This is the first suspension bike that I have bought new and never experienced this before. I sort of feel that it is something that needs to be addressed. Am I right in feeling this way or is it a normal condition.

Definitely needs to be addressed. By the LBS you bought it from.

That's really dependent on what's a "thin film" to you. On an oil-filled shock it's entirely natural to have a slightly greasy/oily surface, something sticky enough to attract dust. Ride for a few hours and you might even have a thin (1-2 mm) ring sitting on the seal between the fork legs. But you shouldn't be seeing any volume to speak of, drops and runlets would mean that there's something wrong.

this fork is 100miles old? you have been riding it for 100 miles with it locked out? if yes then and oil ring will usually just be from assembly. with use it will lessen
