Linear brake adjustment

Is there a site with instructions (with diagrams/pictures) on how to adjust the "linear brakes" on my son's bike?
He has to squeeze the brake handle all the way down to stop. One of the pads is closer to the rim than the other.

Please help make this Dad a hero.

Thanks
