Cheapest brake cables online?

Where can I get the cheapest brake cables? I'm looking to order at least 20. Cheapest I've found is about $1 each on Niagaracycle

I also need the universal kind, or alternatively about a 80/20 ratio of mountain/road

I've paid less than 80 cents at Niagara, their lined housing is a good deal as well.

Just checked, Pyramid cables are 77 cents each. Just be prepared for slow service.

You can buy all the cables (2brake and 2 shifter) for a bike at Walmart for $5 and no shipping is involved. Roger

Pay a little more and ensure that you get the smooth finish die drawn cables. Assuming that these are for you or you and your buddies you will like the feel of the die drawn cables and be happy you paid a few more cents each for them.

I hosted a clinic not too long ago and bought 5 packs of these (as many as were on the shelf). $4.88 or something like that and it included new housing AND metal housing caps. Under the "Bell" label. These worked great for fixing up a bunch of bikes. I ended up only using 6 new cables, but I replaced lots of short segments of housing and used the housing caps. The trick I used to save cables has been to save the long RD and rear brake cables taken off another bike. After visually inspecting the head end to make sure it looked okay, and using a sharp cutter to remove frayed ends, I'd coil them up, put a small wrap of masking tape with date and origin. I had old cables in excellent condition from 10 years back that went right in as FD or front brake cable replacements. Similarly, the RD cables and rear brake cables I collected on this clinic, I cleaned, lubed, labeled and put them back in stock for front use later.

^^^^^^^^^ Yup, that's saved me many feet of cable/housing.
