I hear alot of noise from my drivetrain. Sounds like metal chirping noises. Could it be symptoms from a dry chain? The noises only occur when I am pedaling and seems to be coming from the cogset area.

This is a rite of passage you must take yourself, knowing your bike is knowing your ride. use your toothbrush if you have to but get it clean, if this is your first cleaning then you will feel like you just bought a new bike after cleaning and you will have realized that you should have done this a long time ago and what were you thinking leaving it dirty like that for all this time with out even a simple relubing............Its good for you its good for your bike. noise = dirty (or a number of other things, but this by far the simplest to solve!)
