Any mechanics in Monmouth/Ocean (NJ) counties?
Just wondering if there are any at-home mechanics in Monmouth, preferably, or Ocean Counties in New Jersey who might be willing to take on a minor project.
thanks in advance.

I'm down in Ocean City at my in-laws quite frequently throughout the summer. What's the project?

Thanks, mister. I guess "project'' might make it sound more interesting than it really is, sorry. I have a number of parts -- front and rear derailleurs, bottom bracket, chain, cassette, bars and bar end shifters, stem and stem riser -- that I want put on my bike. The shops around tell me I'd have to leave it for 5 to 10 days, but that seems an excessive amount of time to be without my bike. I'm hoping someone close might want to make some money and help keep me out on the road. Ocean city is a bit of a hike from here in Belmar, however. Is that below LBI?

I am in....in I guess lower Burlington County(?) near Marllton and perhaps could do it, if your project is straight forward. you do realize that this is a biggish project but and does take a few hours provided there are not suprises like parts incompatibility. the 5 to 10 day wait is because it is vacation season the que is just booked solid.
what make and model is your bike, and what derailleurs and shifters are on it now?
I assume you are trying to upgrade to an index shifting system? are your current shifters mounted onthe DT or stem? are they calmped or brazed on? do you have cables housing stops for the DT? do you have brake and shifter cables and housings?
some good pics of your bike and the parts your have may help home mechanics figure out if they can handle this.
