common or not
The cassette (Deore HG ) on my Iorn Horse 3.0 has a wobble in it. I have checked the runout on my rim (neg.), skewer (straight) and tightness seems fine. Is this a condition common to this lower end component system ? The bike has been ridden and cared for well without any major mishaps. Would an upgrade to Deore XT be a reasonable replacement ?

A bit of wobble is common on these and not a problem. If there's more than a bit of wobble it's possible the freehub body is loose on the hub, but that's very rare unless the hub was serviced and not assembled tight enough.
