Can you tell if a Kryptonite lock is one of the types you can open with a Bic pen?
I have an old Kryptonite lock that uses the circular keys. I've had it since probably the early 1990's.
I'm aware there are certain Kryptonite locks you can open using the back end of a Bic pen.
I haven't actually tried to open it with a pen.
Any easy way to tell the offenders?
I remember they had an exchange program program once. I assume thats over with now.

Yes, the recall and exchange is over. All the tubular key locks were somewhat vulnerable, though most of the older locks had Ace-II cylinders made in Chicago that were very resistant to that method.
Kryptonite moved manufacturing to Taiwan, then China in stages spanning about a decade. First they started using Taiwanese keyways on the low end locks, keeping Ace-II (the tradmark is on the keyway) for top line models. Then they moved production of the low end locks completely to Taiwan (later China) keeping production of the top line locks in Mass. Finally they moved all production offshore, and shutting down USA production entirely.
Given that the tubular keyways aren't around so much anymore, I wouldn't worry about it. The reality is that very few locks were ever picked, and thieves used brute force methods to break locks which remains how they're broken today.
