Salsa rear Quick Release Skewer - lenght ?
Hi,
Just installed a new wheelset on my roadbike (the frame has 130mm rear hub spacing).
The QR skewers are Salsa stainless.
The rear one is "one size" for mountain or road bikes.
According to Salsa's instructions - if the skewer's threaded end exeeds more than 2mm out of the outer face of the tenssion adjustment nut (In my case it exeeds ~ 7mm), it should be shortened so that the skewer's threaded end will be flush with the outer face of the tenssion adjustment nut.
I'd like to know if there are any other reasons to do so other than asthetics ?
Thanks,

Yup. That's so that when you crash the sharp end sticking out of the skewer nut can't skewer you.
