Shimano St-CT15 Front and Rear Derailers

I am trying to repair and get my ST CT15 derailers to shift. They won't.

I'm looking for the document to service, or at least to take apart the Shiman ST-CT15 Front and back derailers. They are not shifting properly. The rear doesn't shift but for maybe low two gears. And the front derailer shifts sort of to 2 settings and the settings on both front and rear do not line up to any gear set number on the dial. Can't find it at the Shimano web site. Must be a very old system of derailer? It looks crazy to take apart. When I first tried, it looks like it will pop open and then open like a latched door but can't seem to get it to open. And I do not want to break it. Suggestions please.

When I removed the shifter from the handlebars, And moved the shifter lever, there was no movement in the cable at all. The bike has been sitting a while after the shifting got sloppy. I recently oiled it to be sure it was loose. I'm getting it fit to ride again but it won't shift. I was looking to replace the cable just to do it but how does the blasted thing come apart? Looking for an tech sheet or manual or something to point me that direction.
Thank you

It sounds a lot like your problem is caused by hardened grease in your shifters. Get some PB Blaster (or WD-40) and soak the shifter internals. Let it sit for a few minutes and then try actuating the shifter. If you still get nothing soak them again and wait a day. Check again. The worst shifters I've come across took a few days with as many soakings to finally start working 100% again. Worst case, just replace the shifters. They are so cheap that the effort you'll put into trying to repair them (parts are generally not available) won't be worth it.

You should also read up at www.parktool.com about adjusting front and rear deraillers. Once you get the shifters working properly you'll likely want to tune the deraillers for optimal shifting. Same if you replace the shifters.
