Shelf Life of CO2 Cartridge

I have about a dozen CO2 cartridges that I have had for about a year or so. The problem is that I have flatted exactly once in about that time, and of course I am now worried about shelf life.

Does anybody know about the shelf life of those cartridges? My intention is to put them on Craigslist if the shelf life is kinda limited.

Thanks for all responses.

Yep, CO2 cartridge shelf life is probably long than the shelf life of any of us.

Unless someone proves that they turn to chocolate inside after a few years, I don't think they ever go bad as long as the metal seal at the tip of the cartridge remains intact.

Do watch out for rust on the casing, though. If it gets bad enough, they can leak or burst. Keep them clean and dry, and they'll last essentially forever.

And if you're not sure, weight them on your gram scale. If one seems significantly lighter, maybe it leaked, though I've never seen that.

I just got a couple from an old box of parts and stuff that had to be fifteen or more years old. They worked fine.
