Any one have any tips for putting on a brake hood?

Any one have any tips for putting on a brake hood?
I'm getting ready to change my handlebars and it's been a while since I've done this, however, I remember that it was very simple until I got to putting on the brake hoods. I remember having a nasty time getting them on, are there any tricks (like when putting on mountain bike grips and hairspray/gasoline/etc)?

What type of hoods? if Shimano STI or Campagnolo Ergo lever hoods, you should be able to fit these by hand, with no tools needed; but if changing handlebars, all you should need to do, is change / remove the tape, and the hoods should just need to be rolled up for that.

Duh, good point, I think the last time I did this I was putting on new levers and the hoods were not on, and I just couldn't get them on, but you're right, there's no need to take them off, just roll them up. Thanks.

hoods goes on from the backside of the lever body ,when remove from the bar. to make putting on easier , heat some water ,let the hood soak
for awhile to soften up ,then put on .
