Tip: JB Weld Fixes Broken Carbon Fiber Cages

Hello all,

I use the CF cages from China. (Ebay) 2 for $25 shipped. Yes, they broke after 3 years, but I am rough with them I think. The bottom tab that supports the bottle cracked and angled off. This was especially a problem with the cage on the down tube. I used JB weld to fix the tab and it is strong and supporting the bottles again. Just wanted to pass the word along. I know some of my friends having the same issue with all CF cages. I searched the site and couldn't find anything about it. Let the critisism begin.

If my 30 year old Jim Blackburn alloy cages ever decide to fail, and I upgrade to carbon, I'll keep this repair in mind.

Sometimes I have to tighten the cage screws, though.

Maybe try JB Weld as a threadlocker?
