Is rear shock leaking to much air??
I bought a 2010 Giant Yukon FX. The rear shock is leaking about 5-10 lbs. of air pressure every 2 to 3 days. The shop i bought it from says this is normal. This is my first full suspension bike so I want to be sure what the bike shop is telling me is correct. I forgot to mention that this is Giants own brand rear shock. Thanks for any help on this issue.

how do you know its losing air? putting the shock pump on will pressurize the hose and it will read low. anyways they shouldn't leak much at all. slight air up every few months. they leak down much slower than tubes/tires

Well when the mechanic at the shop put her pump on it, it showed me it was set at 250, which the shop said it should be at since thats my weight. One day later when I put the pump on it, it reads 240 lbs. Im just trying to learn about rear suspensions after riding hardtails for years.

It's most likely a case of the measurement device ruining the measurement. There is very little volume in an air shock body. So just adding on the volume of the pump and guage will bleed enough air from the shock that you'll easily end up reading 10psi under what it was. Instead of reading it the next day pump it backup to 250 and leave it for about a week to two weeks then hook up the pump again. If it drops to 240 then it WAS at 250 when you put the pump onto it which means it didn't leak at all.
Consider the next day reading you took already as the drop value for hooking up the pump and line.
