Converting my campagnolo-spec frame/forks with shimano dura ace brakes.
Ill make this as simple as possible and no longer than it need be.
My colnago forks and frame have been made to be compatible with campagnolo style caliper brakes but i dont have any of those, but what i do have is a set of shimano dura aces. However, i can't fit them because they don't fit. So my question is; is there any way ican get them to fit (safely)?

How old is your frame and is it made for external nut brakes? If so you will have to modify it or do a couple of work-arounds to use modern Shimano or Campy brakes. They both fit the same way.

i can understand, i should have taken some really...
A bolt goes from the back of the brake, which then goes on to mount the brake on the frame. when i had the brakes on my old frame the large inner most thread on the bolt actually screwed onto the forks/frame. On my current frameset the whole bolt slips right through the frameset hole and does nothing. there is even a gap between the bore and the shank of the bolt. However the bolt tapers and has two differently sized threads on it, M6 and M7, i think, from memory, and if iwas to guess i would suspect the smaller thread has some role to play in making the unit fit on this frame, because it was unused on my old one.
hope that makes sense.

Ok... short answer?? yes u can put any road brakes in there, it will work.
But... but probably you will need longer brake nuts, Im not familiar with the dura ace brakes but it makes sense that if you put the front caliper in and u cant see the center bolt come out and the nut is not engaging the center bolt threads is because it is too short, got to the LBS and buy longer ones, they always have them .
If you have similar problem in the back the same stuff... if the nut is too long, you can get a shorter one or just dremel it.
Good luck.
ps: for the record there is no campagnolo-spec frame, pretty much everything is standar. Sometimes u need to add spacers or longer nuts but besides that there is no campagnolo-spec frames. Can you imagine trek saying that their machines only can be used with campagnolo?? nobody in the USA would buy them...

On page 4 at steps 2 & 3 a long nut sits on the back of the bolt deep in the recess of the frame/fork.
If thats the nut i need does it tighten onto the inner (internal) lip of the fork or the outer structure? (there is a cavity with a recess inside my fork)
& Do ineed any further spacers or slips to keep the bolt (and brake unit) from moving inside the barrel?
please excuse the questions. im a bmxer most of the time.
Yeah...... the campagnolo thing...... that makes sense

Dude we are not in the same page... the pdf u want us to look is for adjusting the brake pads (the shoes?)... are u talking about the brake pads or the nuts/bolts/ recesed bolts to fit the brakes??? (figure 1 at page 4)
After seeing the pdf i think you are talking about the brake shoes, not the calipers????
