2011 Felt F75 Bottom bracket clicking under load
I bought a 2011 Felt F75 in June and am really happy with it until about 3 weeks ago I noticed a clicking sound coming from the bottom bracket area when standing or climbing.
I have checked the seat post, pedals, stem bolts, water bottle cage, derailleur clamp, the list goes on but still the click is there. So last weekend I pulled the crank (FSA Gossamer compact BB30) and removed the bearings. Then cleaned the BB30 shell and reinstalled new cir clips and new bearings with lots of grease and torqued the crank bolt to spec, but still its clicking.
I'm not sure what to do next, should I try loctite 641 or buy a KCNC BB30 adapter and change to a Shimano 105 Hollowtech....
If you bought the bike form a dealer take it back for warrantee.
If not, however, and please don't take this as definitive advice, you could look into the Loctite method as used by many on this forum.
Simple things first though, have you checked the chain? Replace it and see if the clicking goes away. It turned out to be the cause for my clicking woes. Twice on different bikes (not BB30 though).
