shimano chain replacement pin

i got my shimano 9 spd HG chain replacement pins and pushed it in to the link but now im supposed to break off the end? how do I do that?

Just grab it firmly with a pliers and make like your trying to bend the link. It's hardened. It will snap off. That's all.
