Upgrade and replacement in one

Ok so two questions in one really for my Scott scale 60 (2010):

https://www.evanscycles.com/products/...-bike-ec020590

1. [Brake Levers: Shimano BR-M486 Disc] Fell off my bike today on the way to Manchester on the bloody tram lines!. The force managed to snap my break lever at the end and im wanting to replace it. How easy would this operation be and where can i buy the correct lever?

2. [Front Tyre: Schwalbe Rocket Ron 26 x 2.1 / 50EPI Kevlar Bead Performance Series
Rear Tyre: Schwalbe Rocket Ron 26 x 2.1 / 50EPI Kevlar Bead Performance Series]

Need some new tyres for xc and trials to replace the ones I currently have. I have no idea how tyres work. I would buy two new sets one for the road and one for xc/trails. Would this work? Cheers,

Ed

Brake lever, check the Shimano Tech docs for the part number, any LBS with a Madison account (All LBS's in the UK should have this) will be able to order it https://techdocs.shimano.com/media/te...9830651585.pdf but you may find it cheaper to get a new brake system say from CRC or Merlin.

For the tires, your question is confusing, what are you asking? the Schwalbe tires you have listed are XC racing, not trials, trials and XC need different tires; or do you mean trails, you have both terms listed, and they are for very differnet activities, you need to be specfic about your planned use, have a look at the Schwalbe catalogue for more info https://www.schwalbe.co.uk/downloads/.

If you do mean trails, and using them on-road as well, why not, but it will never be as fast as slick on the road

Ok reading that I understand. What would be the best tyres for xc/trails and the road. All each individually.

Simple answer = MTB off road, Road bike on road.

If you are going to use an MTB for both, slicks will work best on road, for what tire to use off road, this can only be answered by knowing your local trail and weather conditions, best bet is to find some local riders, and see what they use, what works in one place, may not work in another, local knowledge is key here.

Thanks for that. I do mainly do xc and road biking. Can you tell me the names of the tyres that would fit my bike. I have never bought any tyres before. what are a pair of tyres that will be most similar to the ones I have at the moment? I will probably buy a road bike in the near future
