Bike survived a fire in the garage!

My buddy's bike was in a garage that caught on fire and went through some high temps but survived. He has no idea what he should do to make sure his bike is safe. Other than getting a full tune up and changing out the tubes, tires and brake pads, is there anything else that he should get done?

What material, and how does decals, grips, bar tape, saddle etc look? A steel frame will be pretty much unconcerned up to the point of basically getting the paint scorched off. Aluminium frames sometimes undergo extensive heat treatments after manufacturing and may soften enough to change significantly even with the paint left in place. Even CF is routinely cured at elevated temperatures, and may well survive more than imagined.

If there's a decent insurance clause on the garage, I might try to get the bike replaced through that, just for peace of mind. If it isn't, I'd probably ride any bike not showing any discoloration/deformation of plastic or rubber parts, but YMMV.

I'm with dabac, if the paint, plastic and rubber survived, you should be able to disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble any metal frame and fork. Chrome moly can even survive heat that would scorch paint and decals and warp plastic. I can't speak for CF as I don't own one and know very little about them.
