Odd sound coming from my front hub

I was about to go out for a ride and started checking my bike for anything odd. I spun my front wheel and heard something like a brake sound. I took my brakes off and the sound was still there! I found it was coming from the hub and was wondering, is this normal? Do I need to replace the bearing or grease the hub?

Removing the wheel and spinning the axle by hand might give you a better indication if there's some roughness in the wheel bearing. Regular wheel maintenance is a part of bike ownership. Why not service it and see if the problem/noise still exists?
