Interchanging forks

I need a rigid fork to replace my suspended front. I have 700 rims and the perfect length fork that i have found is a vicious 29er fork. Will the 29er fork work with my 700 wheel? Wondering where the brakes will end up.

The rim size of 700c and 29er are the same (622mm).

rim brakes? yes.. , disc brakes it does not matter..
