Problem with my Cateye Velo 5

Hello, first time poster, long time reader here.

I have a cateye velo 5 someone got me as a gift. Well one day it fell off my bike and narrowly got ran over by a Hummer. How apt, right? Well, I though whew, that was close, but I picked up my cateye and only half of the screen numbers come up. Like if the LCD is broken or something. The little MPH comes up on the bottom, but the middle is kinda gone. The top half of the mileage numbers come up, but not the bottom, though sometimes faintly. Its not the battery. Can I remedy this at all, its such a bummer?

Most likely broken.

I use these on both bikes.

They also have other models.

You can E-mail Cateye.
They may send you another one for no cost.

The Velo 5 is the entry level model in Cat-Eye's line and should be replacable at low cost. Nashbar is offering the Mity 8 model, which has more functions, for $23 so replacement of the velo 5 should be that much or less. There are cheaper cyclometers than Cat-Eye's but nothing more durable or reliable. Any of them are worth the small cost difference.
