Head tube length
Hello,
I am thinking of switching my mtb bike frame. The current bike is a 2005 stumpjumper disc (size 18). I am considering switching the components over to a 2003 Jamis Dragon (size 19) frame. My biggest concern is if my Fox F80's steerer tube will be long enough for the new frame. The current stumpjumper has a 110mm headtube and ~15mm of spacers below the stem. The Jamis has a 125mm head tube. This seems like simple math (and it should work), but is there anything I'm missing? Would I be able to use my same headset?
Thanks,
Tom

I don't know the specs of both, but if they both take pressed in 1-1/8" headsets then yes you can switch it over. You should also be able to use the same fork. You're not missing anything in your calculation but it's close so there's little room for error. You might possibly have an issue if the headset design requires a spacer below the stem, but a 2mm spacer should bail you out if it comes up.
