Nashbar Mountain Bike Rear Derailleur + Shimano 600 6401 DT shifters = indexible?
I'm building up an old touring C'dale frame as a city commuter/tourer and thought that this RD from Nashbar/Microshift would be a pretty good choice for the drivetrain, especially considering my tight budget.
My only question before I pull the trigger is whether or not it will index with the Shimano 600 6401 8sp downtube shifters I have. My guess is yes, but I'm no professional. Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer!
For those who are curious, the drive train will probably be a Shimano 8sp 11-30 or 11-32 HG-50 cassette coupled with a 52/42/30 or similar front road triple. Don't know yet exactly what because I'm still waiting for the parts (FD, RD, cassette, cranks + BB) to become available on eBay or some such place for an affordable price.

Let us know how it works. That RD looks pretty elegant compared to a clunky Deore or such.

Totally resurrecting a zombie here, but I've been having too much fun riding, and haven't been on the forum at all.
To answer your question, the Nashbar-branded microshift RD is still working fantastically coupled to an indexed Shimano 600 tri-color downtube shifter. I highly recommend it, especially for the price. It's been very easy to strip down and clean, too.
