Wearing out Bib Shorts...
I returned home from my ride today and I noticed that the lycra on the inside of my left thigh on my bib shorts is wearing away. It's no longer smooth, and the fabric has started to degrade. They only have about 250 miles on them. My saddle is on perfectly straight, so I don't know why it is only wearing away on the left. Maybe I shifted my weight while riding or something... But here's my question: Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting worse?
Sorry if I posted in the wrong subforum.. I didn't know where else to post this.
These are the shorts in question: https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...202357_202329_

Is it just this pair of shorts or have you had the problem with others?

I have a feeling it has something to do with the new saddle I installed. It has an elongated nose, so I guess there's more for it to rub on. I have this saddle: https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...8_20000_400195

Some saddles, are slipperier than others. If the new one is suede, or even natural leather covered, that can account for the difference, vs. a smooth plastic covered saddle, or one worn smooth.
The other factors might include a slight difference in angle or height that affects your riding position, or has you riding slightly farther back on the saddle where it's a bit wider. Since all the wear is on one side only, than there might also be a slight twist.
Lastly, just because it's mounted dead straight, that doesn't mean you sit on it perfectly. Try to figure out if it seems to be rubbing your leg, and what adjustment will address it.

Check the wear on your saddle to check for rubbing. I've got this problem but my saddles wear out faster than my shorts. I tend to put the wear on the right side of the nose of the saddle. My solution is the point the saddle a little to the left to compensate for my right thigh being slightly bigger than my left thigh.
