Hey all,
I've got a steel frame I'm building up, and want to put this query to the hivemind:
What's the difference in ride quality between a steel straight blade fork vs. a traditional lugged steel fork? It seems to make sense that the straight blade would make for a stiffer set-up but harsher ride over rough stuff.
Straight blade https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...&category=1640 vs. trad lugged https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...&category=1640. YOU DECIDE!!!

The lugged fork will probably give you a smoother ride as the curvature will give it a better opportunity to flex.

You will probably notice no difference. Straight blade forks have the same rake as a curved blade, it's just obtained by angling the blades forward at the crown rather than curving them at the bottom.

Generally I think any difference (if any) felt, most likely has more to do with how much taper there is in the fork leg, as well as the tube diameter, and whether it is straight gauge VS butted.
