    Cannondale graphics

A while back I stripped the paint off of my early 1990s cannondale r600, since I already had it mostly apart to replace the bottom bracket and headset, and since it was decorated with the "cool-back-then" black and neon pink. But now it is back together, and things just don't seem the same without the graphics. Does anyone know where or how I should go about finding another set? Obviously, I don't want to get a replacement set from the same year, since they would be neon pink. In fact, a nice yellow would probably go nicely with the scheme I have now. Do they have a general set that isn't bike or year specific, or does anyone know of a particular year and model for which cannondale used yellow graphics on a road bike? Has anyone else done this? If any of you are dealers and can sell me what I'm looking for, email me at junk@jaredyates.com

Check eBay. Put in a search for "Cannondale decals".
    Bikes use brakes to stop.

If your bike has breaks, don't ride it.

I'd write cannondale a nice letter through there website. I re-painted my late 80's 'dale several years ago, and needed the same thing. I wrote them a wicked nice letter and bragged how I'd probably helped sell a dozen or their bikes as I spanked club-mates in sprints all week-long. I'm kinda cheap, and didn't want to pay much so said I needed just the 2 downtube decals and they sent them out no charge. If this doesn't work try this trick: call them and say you're trying to get a set of decals for your 15 year-old son who has asked for them at the local bike shop but they blew him off 'cause he was just a kid. Put some 'twang' in your voice showing your disapointment with the shop, but forget the name when they ask who it might be. Since Cannondale will want to 'appologize' for the error they'll probably also send 'em no charge.

I just went through a similar scenario with a different company. I simply told them that I was restoring my 30 year bicycle. They were extremely helpful and apologetic that they could not supply the exact replacement decals. However, they shipped me the closest they had, at no charge!

I would hope that a company like Cannondale would be more than pleased that you want to display their name on your refurbished frame. You'll probably get the decals for free or a nominal charge. By the why, there was a really nice set of gold decals for the Black Lightning models of that era. That would be my personal choice.

Another affordable option is a local vinyl stick-on company. They can make you a set of custom stick-ons in your choice of color that say anything you want.

I'm working a custom decal job for one of mine too. They quoted me 30 bucks for a complete frame package of my own design. They warned me as did a few other sources, that the cheaper decals will fade relativley quickly as opposed to the outdoor or automotive types.
