FH-RE101"T" Different Dimension Than FH-RE101?
Should all Campagnolo Record rear hub axles from about mid-1990s through 1998 be interchangeable? I'm looking for an axle to replace the one in my Record Titanium 9 speed rear hub (because someone cut it short, which I stupidly noticed after I built the hub into a wheel). My axle is titanium, but steel would be okay at this point.
I bought a $15 old Record 8 speed hub, thinking I could use that axle, but to my surprise the part of the axle where the freehub goes is too small (diameter). My 9 speed freehub has slightly larger bearings than the 8 speed.
Then I saw that these are all over eBay for about $35
"Campagnolo Freehub Axle w/o Cone 94-6 Record/Chorus"
But I'm now unsure if they are the right diameter? This is confusing. I thought Record cassette hubs all used the same part, FH-RE101, until 1999 when they switched to the large diameter hollow FH-RE201 part. Looking at the Campy parts PDFs, I see my hub used FH-RE101"T". I thought "T" merely designated "titanium" - was it a different dimension too?

Oh crap. Searched (again) and stumbled on a comment that Record Titanium used its own specific freehub. That suggests that my Record Ti rear hub has a specific axle and freehub that are not interchangeable with other 1990s (pre-'99) Record hub parts.
True?
True?

Did you ever solve this issue jyi? I might have to buy a new axle for something as well. Did you ever find the axle you were looking for? All knowledge on the hub assembly and axles for these hubs is surprisingly grey. thanks

This is what I learned.
1. The Record Titanium hubset from the late 1990s wss only made for a couple of years, the axles are titanium and a different diameter from the steel axles of earlier Campagnolo hubsets and the aluminium axles of later Campagnolo hubsets. The freehub was also specific to this model hubset.
2. If you set up a search/alert on eBay, and forget about the project, eventually an axle from a Record titanium hub will turn up. You will bid your left nut for it, but you'll get it for only a quarter nut, because you're probably the only one looking for it. $50 shipped from Europe, in my case.
