Deore LX Bottom Bracket/Ultegra Crankset

Would an Ultegra or 105 crankset work with an Deore LX Bottom Bracket? Should I even consider replacing the bottom bracket, too? It's giving me no problems, but it has about 5000 all-weather commuting miles on it. It's on a Surly Cross Check. Thanks.

no. the mountain BBs are different from the road BBs, and you will screw up your cranks if you try to put a road crank on a mountain BB. heres the info: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html#shimano

Not all of them!! XTR ocralink uses the same spline pattern, but not the required spindle length.
