Braze On Question

I am riding my "vintage" 1980 Schwinn Super Le Tour. I am thinking about restoring the frame this winter, new paint,decals,etc.. It is just a fun bike to ride and at this point in time my only road bike. My wife and I ride a tandem.
So until I pull the trigger for a newer road bike...
My question is it has no braze ons at all. I was wondering how involved it would be to add a few sets? Also I was considering trying it myself.
Thoughts??

A frame builder could add whatever braze-on fittings you want such as downtube shifter bosses, cable quides, water bottle cage mounts, etc., etc. I weould avoid adding a front derailleur braze-on tab as it limits your choice of chainrings in the future.

If you are a competent brazer and have a source for the fittings you could certainly do it your self. Your bike isn't made of an exotic steel or with super thin wall tubes so the probability of doing damage to it is small. Obviously, this will require a full repaint but you are planning that anyway.
