Zephal EZ Push - won't work with my Schrader!

EDIT: It's Zefal, not "Zephal"

Hi folks,

So I buy this item some months back: A Zefal EZ Push CO2 Inflator (link below), which is supposed to be a universal valve. I also buy a box of 16 g threaded cartridges. Not wanting to waste a cart I never tried the system on my bike with its Schrader valves. Can you guess where this is going?

Yesterday, when I got the inevitable flat, I couldn't get the thing to work with my valve. Looking inside the device, there is no center pin to engage the Schrader pin, so how could it possibly work?

Do any of you know the EZ Push and does it actually work with a Schrader? Is the one I have, with no center pin, missing something? Or am I supposed to do something beyond putting the device over my valve and pressing really hard?

Here's the thing at Zefal. Thanks for any info!

See if the nozzle will unscrew.

Lots of pumps have a rubber and a plastic part under a screwed lockring. Turn both parts over to convert the pump to Schrader.

Good luck.

Hey Grouch,

No luck. It doesn't "look" like it's meant to unthread, and using a pair of vise grips got it to move, but after many rotations, it was clear that nothing was unscrewing.

I do have a query in to Zefal support. Let's see what they say!

Thanks
Lance
