I am planning putting a triple chainring on one of my bikes for the "death ride" using a 110/74 bcd crank and DA triple front derailleur (supposedly able to handle 14T differenece between outer and middle ring) with mtn rear derailleur.

Anybody see any problem with Running 48/34/24 (rather than 48/38/24) and 11-32. I wanted to keep the small ring and middle ring only 10T apart so I wouldn't have to worry about dropped chains on death ride.

What are you planning to use for shifters?

That's a combination that I've never tried. My guess is that it would work fine with friction shifters but you might have to finesse your shifts a bit if you are planning to use STI.
