I thought I had a freehub but this looks like a freewheel

I got this garage sale bike, a Trek 7100, from my father to replace my crashed road bike. Its gears are too wide-ratio'd for my road use so I thought I could pick up a cheap cassette to go on it. I pulled the wheel off today to count teeth and figure out what hub I had, but this looks to me like I need a freewheel instead. Actually I have lots of old freewheels but I'm not sure I have a remover to fit this Trek. (Just for kicks I could put my old 13-19 straight block on this hybrid bike with MTB handlebars and triple chainrings!)

Yes it's a spin-on freewheel. You can tell by the removal splines.

Sorry for not being more clear- I wanted to confirm that it was a freewheel and not freehub.

I've never seen a megadrive freehub. 99% + positive that's a freewheel.

With freehubs there's not such a deep black hole behind the locknut.

I have no need for that big 34 tooth cog, the biggest that I need is probably a 21. I've got lots of old freewheels from 13x19 through 13x23, I can't remember if my freewheel remover survived or not, but a new tool would still be cheaper than a new cassette. I saw that big recess and splines for the normal freewheel remover and figured that I had a freewheel but thought I would get confirmation.

We had about 3 of those megarange freehub 7 speed cassettes. Same thing as those Megadrives, huge 34t low range cog.

I ended up grinding off the rivets off of 2 of the cassettes and replacing the 34t with something smaller, most people who came into the bike coop and want a cassette, don't want a megarange sized cog.

AFAIK, those SunRace freewheels use the same puller as Shimano freewheels; Park's FR-1 or equivalent.

I dug through my bike toolbox and found my puller. The photo below is a comparison of the 13-34 Sunrace vs. one of my old 13-21 freewheels, lots of difference. I put that 13-21 on the bike after I rode this morning. I'll try it out early next week.
