Recommended chain tool

I've been picking up bike tools lately as I am committed to working on my bikes. I have both campagnolo equipped and shimano equipped bikes and I am looking for a chain tool for my shimano bike. I already have a UT-CN200 chain tool for the campy chains and I was looking to get a chain tool for the other bike.

My Sworks has DA group but it's the older 7800. Once I finish regearing the campy bike (I'm waiting on a cassette from Ribble) I plan to replace the crank on the Sworks to a compact crank and I may upgrade to a 7900 series cassette and RD.

Can anyone recommend a chain tool for the shimano group bike? I've looked at both the park tool CT-3 and CT-4.2 and I remember reading in some review that one of those chain tools got pretty bad reviews (of course I can't find that bad review now). I read that the CT-4.2 was designed for the hour glass shaped 7900 chains but will that work for other shimano 10 speed chains?

Thanks in advance, you guys are an excellent resource!

The Park Tool CT-3 is a fine chain tool.

Got enough discernment there? Geez.

I'm happy if the tool can just do the job without wrecking the part or my fingers.

...Come to think of it, I'm in bliss when the tool I'm holding is the best thing possible... that's better than mediocre sex, if you're getting any.

I revise my sentiments and wish you luck with your tool Nirvana.

Only thing better than mediocre sex, is *great* sex!

The CT-3 is fine for home use;
I've had one for years.

I have had my CT-3 for 30 years and still haven't had to replace the replaceable tips on it. It gets used probably 50 times a year. Roger

I love my Pedro's tool but I have had to replace the pins on the often side. I use it maybe twice or thrice daily.

Here in Oz we have neither Twinkies nor Wally World.

Tell you what's better than mediocre sex, if you're getting any... terrible sex if you're not getting any. But when it's been on tap for a while, I can take it or leave it. Enthusiastic and creative sex however, that never gets tired.

The Campy tool should work on any 10 speed chain.

Park tools are better than sex. For a start, they involve a lot less begging.
