    snapped bolt, crushed wire

I watched a guy snap a bolt with a torque wrench yesterday it was on a 3ttt arx team stem. He also crunched my flight deck wire in between the stem and bar, so perhaps the slight misalighnment caused the snapping. The good part was that is was not my stem. I know the guy and people kept coming in with bikes so I did not point out the crunched wires. It still worked and I have extra wires, but I just put on new bar tape and got everything the way I like it. Its like, now I remember why I don't trust anyone but myself to work on my bike.

edit update, went for a ride today and the wire is severed! Arrgggggggggghhhh.

I also do all the work on my own bikes. That way there's no question who screwed it up.

I'd feel bloody well violated if someone else was to work on my bike.

I loathe having anyone else mess with my car.

they snap all the time on 3t stems with TI bolts. junk. they snap with a torque wrench always staying under 5nm. 3t needs to upsize the bolt when moving to ti not just replace steel with ti

Are we talking about a two-bolt or a four-bolt stem?

4 bolt, i am unsure of it being ti hardware. I believe their team line is not ti. I would never use ti hardware on anything, what people do not realize is that steel is actually stronger.
